East Anchorage
East Anchorage is known for its close proximity and convenient access to Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER), a combined military base. JBER contributes to about 10% of Anchorage’s local population. Many military personnel and civilians who work on base will live in the surrounding East Anchorage neighborhoods for an easy commute.
